We had an incredible time on the Epic Morocco tour! A huge part of what made the experience so special was our amazing tour guide, Hamid. Hamid is warm, personable, and brought such great energy to our group. He shared fascinating insights everywhere we went and constantly went above and beyond to take care of us. Whether he was tracking down lost phones in taxis, helping people navigate tricky terrain, or somehow arranging a surprise birthday cake in the middle of the Sahara Desert—he did it all with humor, patience, and a genuinely positive attitude. We’d love to travel with him again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to explore Morocco. Beyond Hamid being an absolute rockstar, the tour itself was exceptionally well-organized. It was a packed 11 days, but completely worth it—we had the chance to explore such a wide variety of Morocco’s landscapes and regions. The accommodations were consistently beautiful and comfortable, and the food was fantastic everywhere we went. One thing we especially appreciated was how thoughtfully they chose restaurants—every place felt clean and trustworthy, and no one in our group got sick, which had been a concern going in. Despite the full itinerary, the trip felt smooth and stress-free because every detail was handled for us. We just had to show up and enjoy. Going into this, we were a bit nervous since we’d never done a group tour before and didn’t know what to expect—but this ended up being an unforgettable adventure, and we’re so glad we did it!

Seeing Magnificent Morocco with Culture Trip was a wonderful experience. Our trip manager & tour guide Hamid Boulmane went above & beyond to make sure we had an excellent trip. From sharing his knowledge & expertise of his beautiful country & inviting us to meet & share meals with local families really gave it a personal touch & special experiences in each place we visited. Our driver Nurten made sure our journey was safe with his great driving skills. I definitely enjoyed the added luxury that they not only loaded & unloaded our bags from the tour bus each day for travel, but also delivering them to our rooms & picking them up outside our doors before departure each travel day. This wouldn't seem like a big deal if there were elevators at our hotels but most of them there were not, so this was awesome. The many sites we visited covered all aspects of Moroccan life from the sea to the mountains to the quiet towns to the hustle & bustle of big cities & markets to the vast sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. I was definitely impressed & so happy to experience the Moroccan culture. Highlights for me we're seeing the blue city of Chefchaouen while the end of Ramadan was being celebrated in the streets, riding camels to our luxury camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes of the Sahara desert, making new friends & seeing the many cats of Morocco. The quaint to luxurious hotels and riads we stayed in were all lovely in decor & comfort. The delicious food was neverending & every meal felt like a special occasion. The small group for this trip was a perfect balance of strangers from across the USA that were like long lost friends in the end. We had many laughs & made many great memories together. I highly recommend this trip to anyone considering seeing Morocco. It definitely checked all the bucket list items & we saw more I never would have planned or thought of without the experience, insight & recommendations of our expert local guide Hamid & driver Nurten running this trip. Thanks for an unforgettable tour of Morocco!

What a wonderful trip. From some amazing accomodations to unforgettable experiences, the trip flew by. Hamid Boulmane, our guide, went above and beyond. He gave us great insight to places we visited or drove by, as well as recommending places to get the best deal or best quality for souvenirs. Even our driver went above by performing music with the Riad employees one night. It felt like we saw or experienced all Morocco had to offer and Hamid not only ensured we had a good time, but would wish to return.

Hamid Boulmane was the most unexpected bonus of the trip . As our guide he made a cohesive group of 7 come together as if we had been together forever. Not only was the itinerary adhered to but he spontaneously added other things and made sure we all had the utmost experience . Morocco was incredible but Hamid was extraordinary !
read moreSitting pretty in the northwest corner of Africa is a land that has witnessed centuries of history come and go across its deserts, mountains and spectacular coastline. While the landscape remains as beautiful as ever, Moroccan culture has evolved over time, blending Berber, Arab and European influences, leading to a fascinatingly diverse range of towns and cities.
Alongside the capital, Rabat, these include Fez, Marrakech and, of course, Casablanca. Each has a distinct identity, but you can always expect beautiful architecture, great food and an atmospheric cultural scene. If you’re looking to discover somewhere new, how about the coastal cities of Agadir and Essaouira? Or the mountain town of Chefchaouen, well-known for its smurf-blue buildings.
Then there’s the ever-changing landscape, from verdant forestry to pretty beaches and rolling desert dunes. The Atlas Mountains are one of the most beautiful ranges on the planet, while further south sits a significant chunk of the Sahara. Some tours fit all of the above in one trip!
Summer is scorching in Morocco, so unless you’re lounging on the coast, or if you can handle the heat and want to avoid the crowds, we’d recommend going between March-April or September-November. If you want to avoid tourist season completely, then November-February is your best bet – but beware of extremely cold temperatures in the mountains, and plummeting temperatures at night in the Sahara.
That very much depends on what kind of experience you want. If you’re working with limited time and money then you can happily combine one city with a bit of countryside in a week – for example Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains, or Casablanca and the Sahara. For a more complete Morocco experience we recommend setting aside 10 days to two weeks, which allows you to see sea, mountains and desert alongside an eclectic range of towns and cities.
Mediterranean! Summer (June-August) is extremely hot and very dry, while the months on either side offer a more pleasantly warm and sunny alternative. Winter can get very cold, particularly at higher altitudes, where rain and snow can be expected. Morocco has a very diverse landscape, so expect areas in the south, like the Sahara, to be warmer and drier than the mountainous regions to the north.
Yes, you can drink alcohol in Morocco. It isn’t a dry country but there also isn’t a European or North American style drinking culture here, in part due to the majority Muslim population. That said, alcohol is sold in licensed shops and served in bars and restaurants. You’ll tend to find that the more tourist-focused establishments are more likely to sell alcohol – a hotel restaurant, for example – but you may have to opt for mint tea with your dinner at more traditional eateries. Be wary of becoming visibly drunk, as this is more shocking to the local population, and can be perceived as unpleasant or impolite.
